Dulaglutide powder is a long-acting GLP-1 analog, which is obtained by fusion of two GLP-1 analogues with DPP-4 inhibitory effect and human immunoglobulin heavy chain IgG4-Fc fragment. It was approved for the treatment of type 2 diabetes in the United States in September 2014. Structurally, Dulaglutide replaces Ala with Gly at position 8 and Glu at position 22 on the GLP-1 (7-37) chain. Replacing Gly with Arg at position 36, Dulaglutide Powder has an average biological half-life of up to 90 hours. In February 2014, clinical results showed that Dulaglutide Powder is not inferior to Liraglutide in efficacy, making it the first large molecule GLP-1 analogue to be non inferior to Liraglutide in efficacy.
